Food Pantry Challenge deadline is October 31

The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation announced that they are only $793 away from meeting the community match goal of $12, 000 for the Food Pantry Challenge to benefit the food pantries in Hamilton County. The challenge runs through October 31, 2021, with all donations received on or before October 31st matched dollar-for-dollar (as funds are available). The final monthly distribution will be sent out to the food pantries in early November. If you choose to mail your donation, make sure it is postmarked by October 31, 2021, to qualify for matching funds.

This is the second year in a row that an anonymous donor has stepped forward to provide $10,000 to which the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation added another $2,000 to encourage area residents, businesses and organizations to show their support to the local food pantries by contributing a matching $12,000.

At the end of this month, between the match funds and community donations, over $24,000 will have been raised to benefit the food pantries in Jewell, Stratford and Webster City. Since this specific community match challenge began in 2020, over $48,750 will have been raised.

To make a donation to utilize the matching funds, send a check to: Enhance Hamilton County Foundation, 501 Bank Street, Webster City, IA 50595. Indicate in the memo line which food pantry you want to support. If no food pantry is indicated, your donation will be split evenly among the six food pantries.
