The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation (EHCF) is making a positive, local impact by offering a variety of giving tools to help people achieve their charitable giving goals to make an impact in Hamilton County that lasts forever. An outright gift of cash is quick and simple. However, there are other assets you may consider contributing to a charitable fund through the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation that could provide even more tax advantages.
“For instance, if you are looking to eliminate the potential of capital gains tax, you might want to consider a charitable donation consisting of a long-term appreciated stock or other securities such as an IRA distribution,” said Enhance Hamilton County Foundation Development Director, Darcy Swon. “By making a charitable donation of this type, your cause benefits and you receive a charitable deduction plus eliminate any capital gains tax.”
EHCF give donors seven gift types, other than cash, as options to meet their charitable giving goals. These include outright gifts of securities, gifts of real estate, gifts of retirement plan assets, outright gifts of personal property, gifts of life insurance, retained life estates, and bequests. EHCF can assist you in finding out how you can best utilize your charitable deduction and what gift type will best suit your giving goals. Help the causes and communities you care about while taking advantage of the tax benefits.
EHCF ensures Hamilton County’s charitable programs and projects are supported now and in the future. For example, the Foundation granted over $150,000 to the Briggs Woods Conference Center Project and is working with charitable donors to ensure that they are able to support this local worthy cause through their donations.
The Foundation is also assisting the Wilson Brewer Park Foundation on their current park renovation and preservation project by working closely with the organization to set up the proper funds to receive donor gifts and to assist interested charitable donors with finding the right type of donation for their situation.
The EHCF currently manages $3 million in funds benefiting a wide variety of charitable causes throughout Hamilton County.
