The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation wants to remind everyone that the deadline for their 2016 grant applications is December 31, 2015, by 5 pm. Information on the grant requirements as well as the grant application itself are available on the Foundation website. Those submitting applications will be notified in early March as to if they were awarded grant monies with the Grant Award Ceremony to take place later in March.
The purpose of the Enhance Hamilton County grant program is to provide philanthropic support for community betterment projects throughout Hamilton County. Since the Foundation was established in 2005, the Foundation has awarded over $800,000 to assist organizations with completion of worthwhile projects located throughout Hamilton County as identified through a community grants application process. Swon stated that the areas of emphasis include: Arts and
Culture, Community Betterment, Education, Health and Human Services, Recreation and Environment, and Youth Development.
Organizations that are not a 501c3 or a governmental entity will need to partner with one to be considered for grant monies.
The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation was formed as an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines in 2005. The founding members had a vision to ensure that the communities’ charitable programs were supported today and into the future. In addition to the grant awards, the Foundation works with many individuals, families, businesses and organizations to establish endowment funds to improve the quality of life throughout Hamilton County as well as promote charitable giving and connecting donors with causes they care about.
